Web Developer in Cologne and NRW
Hi, I'm a Frontend Web Developer...
... in Berlin, but originally from the Rhineland area! I am Ingo Steinke, freelance web developer focused on the front-end with more than 25 years of professional experience, most of it in Cologne, Düsseldorf and Münster. I currently live and work in Berlin.
Thanks in part to family ties in North Rhine-Westphalia, in the Bergisches Land and the southern Rhineland region, I maintain a local presence in the area. Consequently, collaborating with agencies and clients in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hilden, Haan, Solingen, Erkrath, or Wuppertal can also include regular in-person meetings on-site.
As a web developer, I worked for the Cologne-based companies nexum and Railslove gearbeitet, after working as a technical consultant at Sevenval (later Avenga) in Köln, Berlin and remote. From 2019 to 2021, I co-hosted the Cologne Web Performance meetup.
I implemented the following projects with teams in Cologne for German and international clients.
Projects and References in NRW
Native Web Themes

SCSS CSS Fractal Handlebars HTML
React-Web-App
As a front-end developer in the Sevenval/Avenga team, I developed and expanded components of the React web app "wao.io" for configuration and real-time data visualisation of website optimisations.React JavaScript Storybook CSS-in-JS
How I work as a Web Developer in Cologne and Berlin
Cologne, Berlin, Rhein and Ruhr have some things in common: Openness, honesty, and diversity. Newcomers are integrated and become proud of their new home. Diverse culture influences and proximity to neighboring countries have always fostered exchange and inspiration in the major cities of NRW. From a business perspective, Cologne and NRW, like Berlin, host plenty of companies, agencies, startups and freelance service providers, who inspire one another and collaborate eventually.
Train trips through mobile dead zones in the Bergisches Land hills keep reminding us not to code solely for ideal conditions. I am happy to offer honest, constructive criticism and propose my own solutions, if you wish. Thorough, productive, and swift.
This already says a lot about how I work as a web developer. Important to me, especially in times of artificial intelligence and increasing automation, is to stay human, to listen, and to explain in an understandable way.
Communication and Documentation in Cologne/NRW or Online
On my website, you can learn more about me, donwload my CV with skills and projects as a PDF and find details about my skills and services, references and projects.
Apart from technology, I have a lot of experience and initiative, but thanks to my communication skills, I am also a team player. If you share a spontaneous idea with me, in a meeting, at the coffee machine, or over the phone, I will take a note, prioritize, and implement it in a well-tested and documented way. As I said, that can happen on premise or completely remote. Modern technology makes it possible. But I’m also happy to meet in person, if that works best for you.
No-Obligation Introductory Meeting
My initial consultation is generally non-binding and free of charge, for individual clients as well as for companies and intermediaries.
Let's talk about your next project! Leave me as message, and I will contact you.
